I saw on Clean Eating Machine the other day this break down of how many servings of fruit & veggies she had in a 3 day span. She wanted to see how many she was getting out of the recommended 9 servings a day. I thought, what a great idea since I am trying to eat better and watch my veggie and fruit intake. Well after a 3 day recording of what Iwas putting into my body (only the fruits & veggies) I realized I have a LOT of room for improvement. The sad thing is, I was making an effort to eat a fruit or veggie or both with every meal or snack. So here is the damage.

Wednesday was a bit tough since I went down to the Tiger's game yesterday and as you can imagine there really aren't fruit and veggies at a ball park!!
How do you get in all your fruits and veggies? Do you get enough? Any suggestions on how to add more to your diet?

Hmm, well I have blueberries and raspberries for breakfast, an apple for snack, a salad with lettuce, cukes, carrots, tomatoes for lunch, 2 or 3 vegtgies with supper and for desert right now strawberries and cherries are in season.
AThat's a good day, somedays I only get 1/2-3/4 of that....
How interesting! Basically the only way I hit this mark is to have a veggie smoothie or a salad for lunch. But I try to always have a salad and a vegetable with lunch and dinner and fruit with breakfast and snacks. I still think I hover around 7 or 8 though!
Well remember, a banana is TWO servings of fruit. Apparently 1/2 a banana is one serving. And I think a big salad would be considered 3-4 servings. So if you think of that way you might be getting more then you think :)
@ Amber.. sadly when I was listing a bunch of veggies, those were the ingredients in my salad hahaha.. if anything i was being over generous!
Eating seasonable is tough to balance fruits, veggies etc. I try to get everything in but trust in a multi-vitamin every day too. I think I just make the base of each meal a salad or a bowl of veggies so I get most of them in

I do so-so. I do much better in the summer when there are more fruits in season & prices are down!
I try to have a couple of servings of fruit throughout the day as snacks - like cherries & watermelon!
I think I do okay. I do the same as you, try to eat fruit/veggies with every meal and I try to always make my snacks a fruit or vegetable. I love salads, so I tend to get a lot of my daily intake through a big tossed salad! :)
