So night is the first night of BUCKEYE FOOTBALL! I grew up on Buckeye football. Sadly I do not have the photo of me hugging my OSU football and wearing my OSU sweats. (Let me tell you how much baby OSU fashion has come in the last 20 years kids!) Awww I was so cute. (My hubby would say brainwashed. I say he is jealous. ) As my dad would say, I have always said what was on my mind since I could talk so if I wanted to cheer for those Wolverweenies I would, but I won't.
I am a Buckeye through and through! I remember nice fall afternoons spent with my dad on the couch laying on his belly under a blanket cheering the Bucks on. I can't wait to share college football traditions with my children. Especially tailgating. Spending a crisp or sometimes a sweletering, Saturday wandering around, the excitement the camaraderie, the hope, the smell of brats and burgers and stale beer. It is glorious. They better be OSU fans or they may be disowned by their grandfather and mother. But I suppose if I have made room in my heart for one Wolverween I can make room in my heart for more. But, still, what SMART kid of mine would turn down seats in the 'SHOE on a weekend with their grandpa??? See, they will see my point. Plus, Ann Arbor is just not Columbus.
So a look back on some fond OSU memories in honor of our first game this evening against Marshall.
here I am in 2009 at Game Day before the USC game

We have many pictures of us freezing out butts off at Wyoming games. Our first home game is this weekend!
Football when it gets colder is so much fun, isn't it!!
Great post!
Have a happy weekend. xx
Haha, awesome pictures. I love tailgating :) And I'm not a Michigan fan so I have no problem with you being annoying about it!
PS. I'm not sure I can read As I Lay Dying again, it was prob one of my least favorite high school reading books. But I promise to at least try if it ends up winning. But if I don't finish it, I'm sorry in advance.
I-O! I am so late in getting to blogs these days (pregnancy will do that). I am very excited and nervous about the Miami game on Saturday. Go Bucks!
